‘Little Free Libraries’ grow throughout KC area — except in Leawood | The Kansas City Star

Shame on Leawood.  Another reason I’m grateful I don’t live in Johnson County, Kansas.

  1. Leawood’s response is disappointing. The question is not where they draw the line on front yard structures, but where citizens draw the line on mindless bureaucrats who apparently run their city.

    1. Agreed. And I may be pointing the finger at Leawood, but I could probably bet that my current ‘home’ town of Lansing has a similar ordinance. I hesitate to make an inquiry. I’ve thought about setting up one of these libraries near the stop sign in my south side yard because there are so many walkers in my neighborhood … and so many books I need to divest myself of.
