My Thoughts:
A bit too modern noir for my fantasy tastes, but still kept me ‘turning the pages’ (or listening) way past my bedtime. However, like most murder mysteries (unless written by Christie) I had it figured out before the halfway mark.
Shapiro did a great job with voice characterizations. He made it worth continuing to the end.
